After it all came together for him the night sitting under the Bodhi Fig tree 2500 years ago, Siddhartha Gautama, the “Buddha,” (means I am awake) taught his followers how he self-trained “The Way” to his enlightened understanding of what it was that crippled his sense of self and caused him to suffer. After several hundred years of monistary monk-to-monk verbal transfer when publishing a printed record became more practical, these teachings were finally recorded in the Eightfold Path to Enlightenment.
Siddhartha’s guidance to wisdom was auto-detailed … not taken from inconsistently authored biographically written accounts twisted by Rome’s self-interests to calm and corral Roman public unrest like Jesus’s written guidance was.
BREAK FREE FROM RUMINATION & WORRY
“The Way” path gives detail to what Siddhartha’s 4th Noble Truth refers to in the publication of his verbal teachings in The Four Noble Truths. (1. the truth of the problem, 2. of the cause, 3. of the solution, 4. of “The Way” to the solution of the problem)
Siddhartha made it clear that he was no more than a typical human being and that what he taught was not unverifiable religious theory (theology). Over time many of his followers gave him “god” status and through immature ignorance, gave his teachings “religious” status which is really insulting, as his teachings are actually verifiable, which is a test that theology cannot meet up to. Siddhartha’s teachings eliminate the need for the middleman confusion that creates a lifetime dead-end for the pursuit of emotional/heavenly bliss. His described way is something any human being can do … but they have to … as he said on his deathbed… to just do it.
They must individually walk “The Way” to give an experientially-induced intrinsic meaning to his intellectually registered instructions.
1ST … SELF-TRAIN A CALM MIND
Siddhartha taught his followers how to self-train a morally/ethically calm mind by eliminating mental white noise confusion as outlined in the first 3 folds of his Eightfold Path to Enlightenment … right speech, right actions, and right life work.
The modern spiritual teacher Eckhart Tolle teaches: “The most important ability to develop not only with regards to manifestation but in spiritual life in the process of spiritual awakening is the ability to still your mind.” the Roman Emporer Marcus Aurelius said: “The nearer a man comes to a calm mind, the closer he is to strength.” Strength would be freedom from the emptiness of understanding. The Mexican Toltec Indian Shaman Miguel Ruiz says that the 1st self-agreement an individual has in his book The Four Agreements is to be impeccable with your word. The process applies to everyone.
In teaching The Way, Siddhartha tells us then what to do with that calm mind.
NEXT … SELF-TRAIN MIND CONTROL
After bringing moral/ethical calm to his mind, Siddhartha’s next Eightfold Path to Enlightenment sequence involves self-training mind control by making the right mental effort to enter into the right mindfulness to allow taking waking consciousness into the present moment to find the suited knowledge to focus the right concentration on to allow the ‘aha’ moments of insightful realizations from the newly acquired sensual knowledge to arise to then be enlightened with the intrinsically digested derivation of the Jehovah-mandated Tree of Life wisdom.
FINALLY … SELF-TRAIN “TREE OF LIFE” WISDOM
Siddhartha’s last phase of self-training an enlightened understanding of how to align and enrich your waking life understanding with reality’s life force principles involves self-training Jehovah’s ‘Tree of Life’ wisdom. After a truth seeker’s right concentration has allowed the right knowledge to insightfully arise from the truth-aware deeper human consciousness, with their mind focused on the right knowledge they now have the self-trained ability to realize the “aha” thinking that feeds into deriving Tree of Life wisdom that will fill their abyss of emptiness that seeds their suffering.
Siddhartha’s Eightfold Path to Enlightenment‘s last two folds are right thinking and right understanding. The self-trained right concentration from self-training mind control allows the right thinking for the ‘aha’ moments of inner discovery to arise from the deeper subconscious awareness to a sensually registered enlightened wakingly understood ‘Tree of Life’ wisdom awareness.
The right understanding happens when the individual wakingly has an understanding of how life principles affect the emotional ignorance versus understanding matrix that characterizes their sense of self. They’re getting closer to finding total peace from having the emotional balance found in each passing present moment … emotional bliss free from suffering … emotional/heavenly bliss.
INSIDE OUT 2’S EMOTIONAL AWARENESS IS 1ST STEP
Disney’s new movie Inside Out 2 demonstrates what a premier role emotions play in how the human condition fits into its human experience. Self-training an understanding of how emotions align with nature’s principles of change allows owning and stepping away from the conditioned perceptions that infect the beliefs that lead to a misguided sense of self and the resulting feelings of “emptiness” that Eric Hoffer says can tender present moment human suffering.
Self-training this enlightened awareness is the first step towards reaching the consciousness evolution Echart Tolle teaches to his students … a foreseen worldwide manifesting state of enlightened collective consciousness … a planet-wide state of emotional balance/bliss living in the shared compassion John Lennon envisions in his song Imagine.
